Golden Hour Engagement Session | West Perth Wetlands Mitchell, Ontario

I know I say in every blog post that the location is my favourite, but I mean it this time. The West Perth Wetlands are my absolute go-to for any type of session! When the wildflower fields are in full bloom, there’s no beating that as a backdrop while the sun sets. Who knew such a gem was hiding in Mitchell, Ontario? While I may be biased, I think this sunset was one of the best we saw in September - my favourite time of year for couples sessions!

Summer Couple’s Session | Wildwood Conservation Area, St. Mary’s Ontario

Golden hour doesn’t get much better than this! These two long-distance lovers responded to a model call in the summer and I made it my mission to find them an incredible location - these back roads in St. Mary’s made for the perfect backdrop. Wildwood Conservation Area is one of my favourite locations in the area, and it sure did not disappoint! We toughed out the mosquitos and rogue branches in the summer sun, but these photos speak for themselves!

Lifestyle Newborn Session | St. Mary’s, Ontario

Documenting growing families is one of the best parts of this job! I had the pleasure of her older brother being my first ever newborn client, but this little lady stole the show today. In-home newborn sessions are some of my favourites; they’re comfortable for everyone involved and go at a much slower pace. No rushing out the door with all your baby gear, no packing up siblings and you have everything you need handy for feeding breaks or outfit changes! Plus, what’s better than documenting the start of a new journey in the place where it’s happening - cozying up on the couch or laying in bed with your newborn instead of stiff posing and trying to keep them asleep.

Arboretum Park Maternity Session | Avon River Stratford, Ontario

One of my favourite hidden gems isn’t so hidden after all - Arboretum Park often gets overlooked by the rest of the riverside parks, but it sure has some of the best summer sun in town. If there’s one thing Stratford has an abundance of, it’s green space! These three had an absolute blast at their maternity session, families and little ones are always welcome here. Documenting pregnancy doesn’t need to be stressful or complicated, sometimes it can be just sitting in the grass with your toddler. It’s often the most simple images that turn out to be the favourites!

Elora Gorge Proposal | Ontario Engagement Photography

When I got message from H about planning this day, I was beyond excited! I had met these two at my Christmas mini sessions the year prior and could not believe I would be a part of the next step of their journey. This may have set a record for the earliest I’ve gotten on the road for a shoot, but it was so worth it! I left Stratford to be in Elora before the tubing launch opened, which is where the proposal was to take place - it was the most stunning spot with the morning sunlight. The weather was perfect at the gorge and we had the place to ourselves! As I took photos of my friend to look inconspicuous with my giant camera lens, we waited patiently for the right moment - check out the photos to see how it went!
